You need the ticket, and you may have only two simultaneously. The current one that is in use, plus an extra one that will replace the first if it expires. Tickets may have different duration times.

The tickets will not be saved for the next Arena and will vanish after the event ends.
 

There are plenty of ways how to get tickets:

 
1) You can gain the Vip Arena Points by:

- spinning in slots;
- collecting the Hourly Bonus;
- completing the Daily Challenge;
- leveling up;
- collecting the Daily Bonus;
- making purchases.

In case you already have two tickets, you can not accumulate VAP in advance till the one ticket expires.

2) Get the ticket from the premium rewards in the “Pass” event.

3) Buy tickets via gift pop-up.
 
 
4) Find a friend who will give you one. Or two.
 
Oh, nearly forgot. When the feature starts or ends, all slots that have their own jackpot stats are set to the default value. Well, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
